The Lagos State Police Command has sealed a suspected illegal factory allegedly used to produce adulterated alcoholic drinks in the Badagry area of the state.
The command also arrested a 48-year-old man, Anaebo Hilary, at the suspected factory located in Yafin, Badagry, Lagos State.
This was contained in a statement issued on Thursday by the command’s Police Public Relations Officer, SP Abimbola Adebesi.
According to the statement, police operatives acted on information provided by members of the public before discovering the suspected factory.
The operatives recovered adulterated alcoholic drinks, empty bottles, various wine labels and production utensils allegedly used to produce and package the drinks.
“The operation led to the arrest of Anaebo Emeka Hilary, ‘m’, 48 years, at Yafin, Badagry, Lagos State, where the suspected illegal factory was located,” the statement said.
The command said the factory had been sealed while Hilary was taken into police custody.
It added that the recovered items had been taken to the police station for further investigation.
The Commissioner of Police, Lagos State Command, CP Tijani Fatai, commended the operatives for acting on the information and urged residents to continue providing credible information to the police.
The command said members of the public could contact the police through its emergency lines for information on suspected criminal activities.
