Obi–Kwankwaso ticket signals turning point for Nigeria — Unuafe

A governorship aspirant on the platform of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Delta State, Dr. Emmanuel Usiwoghene Unuafe, has described the joint candidacy of Peter Obi and Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso as a defining moment in Nigeria’s political evolution.

In a statement, Unuafe said the alliance goes beyond a mere political arrangement, describing it as a convergence of vision, discipline and a shared commitment to rebuilding a functional and inclusive Nigeria.

He noted that the country is at a critical crossroads, where decisions taken today will shape the future of generations to come. According to him, Nigeria’s persistent challenges — including unemployment, insecurity, poor infrastructure and weak institutions — are systemic and require competent, courageous and accountable leadership.

“The Obi–Kwankwaso candidacy offers Nigeria a credible pathway from rhetoric to results and from consumption to production,” he said.

Unuafe added that the national vision aligns with his “New Delta Agenda,” which focuses on economic diversification, infrastructure development and people-centred governance in Delta State. He stressed that just as Nigeria must transition towards productivity and institutional efficiency, Delta must move from potential to measurable performance.

He called on Nigerians at home and in the diaspora to rise above divisions and support what he described as an emerging political direction, emphasising the need for unity of purpose and decisive action.

“This is not about personalities; it is about purpose. It is about aligning credible leadership at the national level with transformational leadership at the state level to deliver real change,” he said.

The ADC governorship hopeful urged citizens to move beyond private agreement to public commitment, noting that history would remember not what Nigerians tolerated, but what they chose to support.

He expressed confidence that with the right leadership, both Nigeria and Delta State could achieve inclusive growth, institutional reform and sustainable development.
