In a heartwarming display of appreciation, the Managing Director of Independent Television and Radio (ITV), Engineer Elvis Obaseki, led a delegation of management staff to pay a thank you visit to the Edo State Deputy Chief of Staff,office of Edo State Deputy Governor ,Hon Pius Alile.
The visit was to express gratitude for Alile’s generous gesture of offering scholarships to the winners of the 2025 itv and radio Inter Schools Quiz, Debate, and Essay Competition organized by Ithe Special Events Committee.
The annual competition, which brings together secondary school students from across Edo State, provides a platform for young minds to showcase their intellectual prowess and win prizes.
This year’s edition was no exception, with Alile’s scholarship awards taking the event to new heights. Obaseki commended Alile’s humanitarian role, saying, “What Pius Alile did for the students is commendable. His humanitarian disposition will continue to be appreciated.”
The Deputy Chief of Staff Hon Alile, in his response, credited Governor Monday Okpebholo’s prioritization of education as the inspiration for the scholarship awards with a pledge to double the stakes in the 2026 edition of the event to accommodate more beneficiaries and enjoined public schools to take advantage of the scholarship opportunity provided . He also lauded the Chairman of ITV and Radio, Sir Chief Dr. Gabriel Osawaru Igbinedion, for his philanthropic efforts, which have positively impacted many lives.
The Executive Director of Finance and Administration at ITV & Radio Lady Celerina Ojomo, delivered a heartfelt vote of thanks, expressing gratitude to Alile for making the 2025 edition of the competition special. She praised Alile’s commitment to education and his role in inspiring young minds.
The ITV management staff, including Director of Radio, Pastor Dan Omozusi, and AGM Programmes Division and Chairman Special Events Committee , Dr. Sunny Duke Okosun among others , accompanied Engineer Obaseki on the visit.
