The town of Otuo in Owan East Local Government Area of Edo State came to a standstill on Saturday, June 21, 2025, as the funeral reception of High Chief Adewole Ohiozokhai Umakhihe (alias Papa Guy) was held at Azama College. The event was attended by prominent figures, including former Governor Senator Adams Oshiomhole, Deputy Governor Hon. Dennis Idahosa, and Speaker of the Edo State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Blessing Sheriff Agbabaku.

Born on April 6, 1941, High Chief Adewole Umakhihe was a devoted husband, father of 21 biological children, and a respected community leader. He served in the Nigerian Army from 1968 to 1979 and later held the title of Enigbeva of the Four Quarters of Iyeu-Otuo.
The funeral reception was attended by various dignitaries, including Senator Francis Alimekhena, Chief of Staff to the Edo State Governor, Gani Audu, Publisher of Midwest Herald Hon. Orobosa Omo-Ojo and other notable figures. The event was a fitting tribute to the late Chief Umakhihe’s life and legacy.
