The former Acting Accountant General of the Federation, Chukwunyere Anamekwe Nwabuoku, on Wednesday, July 16, 2025, requested additional time to file a no-case submission in his ongoing trial before Justice James Omotosho at the Federal High Court in Maitama, Abuja.
Nwabuoku, who is being prosecuted by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), faces a nine-count amended charge bordering on alleged money laundering totalling ₦868,465,000.
At the last court sitting, the defence counsel, Isadore Udenko, had informed the court of his client’s intention to file a no-case submission at the next hearing. However, during Wednesday’s proceedings, the defence said it needed more time to finalise preparations for the application.
